Your Sydenham Labour
Team
Cllr Chris
Best has a
real understanding of local issues having lived in and represented
Sydenham ward for well over 20 years. Her strength is actively
listening to residents say and providing community leadership.
During her career in social housing Chris worked on residents
priorities just as she has done in chairing the Sydenham Assembly.
She also chairs the
Sydenham Town Centre Steering Group and has been working with
traders and the Sydenham Society to attract quality independent
businesses to Sydenham. Chris has campaigned for the £3.6
million to improve the high street as well as investment in
our local parks. In her role as Cabinet Member for Community
Services Chris promotes strong diverse communities in which people
really do work together and care for one another.

Liam Curran Sydenham's
Labour Team has been re-joined by local campaigner Liam Curran,
who has lived in the borough since birth and who went to
school at St Philip's Primary in Sydenham Road. In the 1990s Liam
represented Lewisham on the campaign to get the East London Line
extended to the area and is now delighted that, as a result, from
this coming Mat, Sydenham will be integrally connected to the
London Underground system. Liam has worked both for the private and
public sector and for Oxfam as the charity's international
emergencies press officer. He runs a local Explorer Scout group and
leads their regular clean-ups of the River Pool at Lower
